@stevie-cox · Glasgow
There’s nothing like being sent into a trance on the dance floor. Head down, eyes closed, no signs of making any trips to the bar, and suddenly hours have passed. That’s the effect Stevie Cox has when she’s playing. Originally hailing from Manchester, Stevie can now be found in Glasgow, captivating clubbers at one of the world’s most heralded and longest running clubs, Sub Club. In 2022 she became a permanent resident at its flagship Saturday night party, Subculture, and for good reason. Her ability to make a crowd fully present and hanging on her every move is second to none. Week after week Stevie impresses both solo and B2B with the likes of Skee Mask, Roza Terenzi and Avalon Emerson. Whether it’s playing tripped-out house to 400 people at Subbie, hypnotic techno to a main stage crowd of thousands, or DnB in a 100 capacity basement, ravers from Chile to Germany understand why she is tipped as one of the best DJs of her generation. As a producer, Stevie’s releases on cult labels such as Rhythm Section, Klasse Wrecks and Optimo have been played worldwide by some of the biggest names in dance music, and her recognition continues to grow. Regardless of genre, a common thread can be sensed across her sets and productions; Stevie is drawn to emotionally rich, ethereal and immersive sounds.
