Who's actually behind the decks
MID-8 is a city-by-city guide to the people who make the night. Not another top-40 directory — a field guide to the underground, mapped one city at a time.
What this is
We track the DJs worth going out for, where they actually play, and the gear the booth and the barrier both swear by. Every city profile ranks its scene by how “underground enough” it is, and every DJ page shows upcoming shows, their signature sound, and who they play with.
Why it exists
Live music is loudest on the ground, but it's hardest to find online. We're building the place where clubgoers, promoters, and curious newcomers can find the DJs running their city's scene — real names, real venues, real nights.
How it's made
The data is public and free: venue program pages, MusicBrainz, and open sources. No paid databases, no gated walls. We keep it independent — and gear recommendations are clearly marked when we earn from them.
