These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MID-8 website (mid-8.com and djs-finder.vercel.app), operated by MID-8 ("we," "our," or "us"). By using MID-8, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MID-8. If you are under 13, you may not use the website. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

2. The MID-8 Service

MID-8 is an independent, editorial index and directory of electronic-music DJs, artists, venues, cities, and events. We aggregate publicly available information from public sources to create profiles and listings.

3. Accounts & Profile Claiming

Creating an account is optional. You may browse MID-8 without an account. Accounts are available only for the purpose of claiming your own DJ profile.

Sign-in methods: You may sign in using:

• Email one-time-code ("magic link")
• Google sign-in
• Apple sign-in

What we store when you claim a profile:

• Your account's user ID and email
• Which DJ profile was claimed
• Verification evidence (e.g., a short code you post on your own SoundCloud to prove you control the profile)

Verification: Once your claim is verified, your profile will display a "verified" badge. We reserve the right to approve or deny profile claims at our discretion.

4. Affiliate Disclosure

MID-8 participates in the Amazon Associates program. Some outbound gear and product links on our site are affiliate links. If you click on an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, MID-8 may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

5. Intellectual Property

Our content: The MID-8 website, including its editorial content, layout, and original text, is owned by MID-8 and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Third-party content: MID-8 aggregates publicly available information from public sources including Resident Advisor, SoundCloud, Wikidata, MusicBrainz, Discogs, OpenStreetMap, artist and venue websites, and stock photography (Pexels). Artist and venue photos and music players are embedded from third parties; all rights remain with their respective owners. We do not claim ownership of any third-party content displayed on MID-8.

6. Correction and Removal

If you are a DJ, artist, venue, or rights-holder and you believe that information displayed on MID-8 is inaccurate, or if you wish to have your public profile or a photo removed from our directory, you may contact us at support@mid-8.com to request correction or removal. We will review and respond to all such requests promptly.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the website
• Use the website to harass, stalk, or harm others
• Impersonate another person or entity, including claiming a DJ profile that is not your own
• Submit false or misleading verification evidence
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the website without our prior written consent
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the website
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts
• Use the website for any unlawful purpose

8. Third-Party Links and Embeds

MID-8 contains links to third-party websites and embedded content from third-party services (including SoundCloud, Spotify, and others). We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms of service. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MID-8 is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Accuracy of information: While we strive to keep the information on MID-8 accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of any information displayed on the website. Information is aggregated from public sources and may contain errors or become outdated.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MID-8 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use or inability to use the website; (b) any content displayed on the website; or (c) any third-party links or embeds.

11. Termination

You may stop using MID-8 at any time. You may request deletion of your account by contacting support@mid-8.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access to account features will be revoked.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the MID-8 website. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
