There is a certain restraint to Mr Silk that appears increasingly unusual in modern dance music. While others compete for attention through spectacle and carefully manufactured personas, the London DJ and producer has built his reputation in a more traditional way: through records, consistency and an instinctive understanding of the dance floor. Mr Silk has helped establish Afro House scene within the British electronic music landscape. His sound brings together powerful African percussion, deep basslines, emotive vocals and contemporary electronic production, delivered with the patience of a broadcaster and the precision of an experienced club DJ.
