The festival packing list that actually works
Pack light, pack right, and don't forget the earplugs.
4 min read

Three days of stages is a lot of decibels. Your phone is your map, wallet, and meeting point. The forecast will be wrong by 2pm and you'll be glad for the poncho.
The day bag (every festival)
- High-fidelity earplugs — (why it matters).
- Water — a collapsible or reusable bottle; refill at the free taps.
- A portable charger — keep it alive.
- Sun and rain cover — sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a packable poncho.
- Comfortable, broken-in shoes — you'll walk miles. Blisters start before lunch.
- A small crossbody or fanny pack — hands free, valuables in front, nothing swinging loose.
- Cash, ID, wet wipes — the small stuff that gets you through.
If you're camping
Nights get cold even after hot days. You'll wake up with your hips cold through the pad.
- Tent, sleeping pad, and a warm layer — the pad matters as much as the bag.
- Sleep earplugs — a campsite never fully sleeps.
- A headlamp — finding your tent at 4am is a real skill; light helps.
- Trash bags — for wet clothes, for rubbish, for leaving your patch better than you found it.
What to leave at home
Anything you'd be gutted to lose, anything glass, and half of what you packed "just in case." Travel light; you'll thank yourself at the gate and every time you move between stages.
Quick tips
- Hands-free bag, valuables in front.
- Pack for the cold night, not just the hot day.
- Charge everything the night before; bring the power bank.
- Broken-in shoes only.
Grab the festival kit once, reuse it every summer.
