Navigating through the infinite complexities and mysteries that exist within the sonic realm, Michi has sculpted her truly distinct sound. Her hypnotic rhythms will always have tones of defined, sub-heavy low end, punchy drums with lots of groove accompanied by precise doses of melodic and otherworldly tones. Not being from anywhere, Michi’s nomadic lifestyle around the globe allowed her to experience a wide variety of cultures and sounds. Her background becomes apparent through her musical expression, weaving in a wide range of frequencies from haunting melodic chords layered over drivey minimal basslines all the way to jazzy house with a surprise dash of the, more often than not, dancey breakbeat tune. Michi holds an Audio Engineering degree from UCSD and is an accomplished Live Audio Engineer, specializing in Front of House and Monitor Mix Engineering. Much of her inspiration that started her self-taught Ableton journey began through her studies when she was coding and building synthesizers under the guidance of professors Tom Erbe, the creator of SoundHack, and Miller-Puckette, the inventor of PureData. She is also currently working on projects and undergoing a mentorship with Zain Effendi, who is an acclaimed film composer and protégé of the well known Hans Zimmer. Since 2012, Michi has performed in dozen’s of respected venues and festivals both domestic and abroad featuring internationally renowned artists and DJ’s.
